1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us and basic information generated when you use our website. The categories below describe what we collect and why.
- Contact & request information — name, email, phone number, and mailing/service address you provide when you request a quote, book a service, contact us, or submit a service request.
- Service details — property or home details (bedrooms, bathrooms, square footage, access instructions, entry codes, pets), vehicle details (year, make, model, type), laundry preferences, scheduling preferences, and any message or special instructions you include.
- Photos you upload — images you choose to attach to a service request or project request so we can evaluate, quote, schedule, document, or perform the requested service.
- Account information — email address and password (or a third-party login such as Google) when you create a Client Portal or staff account, plus profile details you choose to add.
- Communication preferences — your choices about optional text messages and optional marketing email.
- Referral & gift-certificate information — names and contact details you provide when participating in our referral program or requesting a gift certificate.
- Shop order information — items purchased, shipping address, transaction metadata, and order-status details for merchandise orders placed through our shop.
- Payment information — limited payment metadata (such as payment status and amount) for invoices and shop orders. We do not store full payment card numbers.
- Communications with us — the content of messages, inquiries, and feedback you send us, and records of the service-related messages we send you.
- Usage information — basic information about how you visit and use our website, such as pages viewed and general device/browser information.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to respond to inquiries, prepare quotes and estimates, schedule and deliver services, process payments, send service-related communications, maintain your account, operate our shop and referral program, improve our website, and protect against fraud and abuse. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
3. Text Messages (SMS)
Text messaging is optional. If you provide your phone number and check the SMS consent box on one of our request forms, you agree to receive recurring service-related text messages at the number you provide. Customers voluntarily opt in by actively checking the consent checkbox, which is unchecked by default; entering a phone number alone does not constitute consent.
Message types may include service-request updates, appointment confirmations and reminders, scheduling and rescheduling updates, quote, invoice, and payment notifications, and service-status or customer-care messages. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help at any time. Providing your phone number and consenting to text messages is not a condition of purchasing any product or service.
Your mobile number, SMS consent, and SMS opt-in information will not be sold, rented, shared, or provided to third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. We may share this information only with service providers who process it solely to deliver SMS on our behalf (such as our SMS provider), and they are obligated to keep it confidential. A visual example of our SMS consent checkbox and details on how consent is collected are available at peppermints.co/sms-consent.
4. Marketing Email
With your separate opt-in, we may send optional marketing emails about offers, services, and promotions. You can unsubscribe from marketing email at any time using the unsubscribe link in those messages or by contacting us. Transactional and service-related emails (such as confirmations, quotes, invoices, and account notices) are necessary to fulfill our service relationship with you and are not marketing emails.
5. Payments
We use Stripe to process online payments for invoices and shop orders. Stripe handles payment card data, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and similar methods on its own secure checkout pages. Peppermint's receives only limited payment metadata — such as payment status and amount — and does not receive or store your full payment card number.
6. Shop Orders
When you place a merchandise order through our shop, we collect the items purchased, your contact and shipping information, and transaction metadata needed to process and fulfill the order and to provide order-status updates. Shipping address details are collected by Stripe on its secure checkout page and shared with us to fulfill your order.
7. Affiliate Links
Some links on our website may be affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate, Peppermint's Cleaning Company may earn a commission from qualifying purchases you make through those links, at no additional cost to you. We only recommend products we use or believe in. Purchases made through third-party affiliate merchants are transactions with those merchants and may be subject to the merchant's own terms, privacy, shipping, and return policies.
8. Referral Program
If you participate in our referral program, we collect the names and contact details you provide for both the referring and referred individuals, along with any referral code used, so we can administer the program and apply eligible rewards. Referral information is used only to operate the program and is not sold to third parties.
9. Client Portal & Accounts
If you have a Client Portal account, we store the information needed to give you access to your appointments, quotes, invoices, service locations, feedback, and related records. You are responsible for keeping your account login credentials secure. Please contact us if you believe your account has been compromised.
10. Photos You Upload
Photos you choose to upload with a request are used to evaluate, quote, schedule, document, or perform the requested service. Uploading a photo does not grant us permission to publicly advertise or publish that image. Our use of photographs and video taken while performing services is described in our Terms of Service.
11. Third-Party Service Providers
We share information with service providers only as needed to operate our business. These providers are obligated to keep your information confidential and to use it only for the services they perform for us. Major providers and categories include:
- Payment processors (such as Stripe) — to process online payments.
- SMS providers (such as Twilio) — to send optional service-related text messages.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers — to operate our website and store data.
- Authentication providers — to support account login.
- Communications and email providers — to send service-related and, with your opt-in, marketing email.
- Analytics providers — to understand website usage (see Cookies & Analytics below).
- Affiliate merchants and services — for product links and qualifying-purchase tracking.
12. Cookies, Analytics & Local Storage
Our website uses first-party analytics to understand how visitors use the site and to improve it. We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, advertising pixels, or advertising cookies. To keep you signed in, your browser may store a login token in local storage. You can control cookies and local storage through your browser settings; disabling them may affect some site features.
13. Data Sharing
We share your information only as described in this policy — for example, with the service providers listed above, to comply with legal obligations, to protect our rights and safety, or with your consent. We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your mobile number or SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
14. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information using access controls and secure infrastructure. No method of transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, and misuse.
15. Data Retention
We retain your information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy — including providing services, maintaining business, accounting, and tax records, resolving disputes, preventing fraud and abuse, enforcing our agreements, and complying with legal obligations.
16. Your Privacy Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you. You can also opt out of text messages by replying STOP, unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in those messages or by contacting us, and withdraw consent for optional communications at any time. To make a request or ask a question about your data, contact us at hello@peppermints.co or (412) 637-9990.
17. Children's Privacy
Our website and services are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
18. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the Last Updated date above. We are not able to send an individual email for every change, but we may provide additional notice where required by law or where a change is material.
